The decade following the death of musical legend, Bob Marley in 1981,
saw the growth of reggae music
spread internationally from the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica to the four
corners of the world. Reggae Strong
captures this classic era in roots reggae history through original concert,
interview, news and cultural segments
featuring the greatest international reggae artists of the 80's and 90's.
Hosted by a different reggae artist in each
episode, and shot on location in New York, England and Jamaica, between
1984 and 1994, these 30-minute
programs provide a time capsule of the flavors and rhythms of international
reggae music that found a vibrant
home for one exciting decade in the cultural capital of the world - New
York City. |
